CloudPe Supported Guest Operating System
Here is the list of guest operating system templates currently available on CloudPe.
Some legacy guest operating system templates may remain available for compatibility or migration use cases. However, End-of-Life (EOL) operating systems are not recommended for new production deployments, as they may no longer receive vendor security updates or patches.
For production workloads, we recommend using actively supported operating systems such as Ubuntu 22.04 LTS / 24.04 LTS or Rocky Linux 9.
Linux:
| Distribution | Version | End of Life(EOL) |
| Ubuntu | 24.04.x LTS | April 2036 |
| 22.04.x LTS | April 2034 | |
| 20.04.x LTS | April 2032 | |
| Rocky Linux | 9.x | May 2032 |
| 8.x | May 2029 | |
| AlmaLinux | 9.x | May 2032 |
| 8.x | March 2029 | |
| Debian | 12.x | June 2028 |
| 11.x | August 2026 | |
| CentOS | 7.x | June 2024 |
Please note:
CentOS 7.x reached End of Life (EOL) in June 2024 and may remain available for legacy compatibility or migration scenarios. It is not recommended for new deployments.
Similarly, Debian 11.x is approaching End of Life (EOL) in August 2026. Customers planning long-term production workloads should prefer Debian 12.x or another actively supported distribution.
Windows:
| Distribution | End of Life(EOL) |
| Windows Server 2025 (Available only in region in-west2) | October 2034 |
| Windows Server 2022 | October 2031 |
| Windows Server 2019 | January 2024 |
Please note:
Windows Server 2019 reached End of Life (EOL) in January 2024 and no longer receives vendor security updates or patches. It may remain available for legacy compatibility or migration scenarios and is not recommended for new deployments.
Windows Server 2025 is currently available only in the in-west2 region as listed above.
Availability of specific guest OS images may vary by region. If a required image is not visible in your selected region, please contact support for confirmation.
Important Considerations:
1. Architecture Support: CloudPe guest OS templates are currently supported on AMD-based x86_64 virtual machine infrastructure.
2. GPU Workloads: GPU-enabled workloads are currently available only in the IN-WEST2 region. For CloudPe L4 GPU virtual machines, the NVIDIA driver installation guide currently references Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS for GPU workload deployment.
3. GPU Driver Availability: GPU driver installation and compatibility may vary depending on the selected guest operating system version and workload requirements. Customers should verify application and driver compatibility before deployment.
