CloudPe offers a 14-day trial period for new users to explore the platform. This guide explains what happens when a trial expires, the resources available during the trial, and how to upgrade to continue using CloudPe.
1. Trial Duration
- CloudPe provides a 14-day trial for all new users.
- The trial period starts from the account signup date.
2. Account Status After Trial Expiry
- Once the trial period ends:
- The account becomes inactive.
- All VMs in the account move to a shelved state.
Note: If the account is upgraded after the trial expires but before final deactivation, the resources remain intact. However, VMs in a shelved state must be manually powered on by the client after the account is reactivated.

3. Account Deactivation
If the trial account is not upgraded within 20 days from the signup date:
- The account will be deactivated
- All VMs will be permanently terminated
- All associated VM data will be permanently deleted
- Related resources, including volumes, snapshots, backups, floating IPs, and projects, will also be removed from the system
- The period between trial expiry (day 14) and final deactivation (day 20) acts as a grace period for upgrading the account.
Warning: If the trial account is not upgraded within 20 days from signup, all VMs and associated resources will be permanently deleted. To avoid service interruption and prevent permanent data loss, we strongly recommend backing up important data before the 14-day trial ends.
4. Trial Resource Limits
During the trial period, you can create up to 2 projects.
Per Project Limits
Each project can use up to:
- 20 vCPU
- 64 GB RAM
- 1 TB NVMe Storage
- 10 Floating IPs
Maximum Total Across 2 Projects
If both projects are fully utilized, the total possible trial usage can be:
- 40 vCPU
- 128 GB RAM
- 2 TB NVMe Storage
- 20 Floating IPs
5. Resource Allocation Flexibility
Within each project, you can distribute the available resources across multiple VMs based on your requirements.
Example:
You can use the 20 vCPU available in a project in different combinations, such as:
- Three 2-vCPU VMs and one 14-vCPU VM, or
- Any other combination, as long as the total does not exceed 20 vCPU within that project
The same flexibility applies to RAM and storage, subject to the per-project limits.
6. How to Upgrade Your Trial Account
To continue using CloudPe after the trial period:
Upgrade Behavior
- If the account is upgraded before the 14-day trial expires, services continue without interruption.
- If the account is upgraded after trial expiry but before the 20-day final deactivation, all existing resources remain intact.
- In this case, any VMs that moved to a shelved state must be manually powered on by the client after the account is reactivated.
Payment Methods
- Indian customers: Payments can be made via UPI or Net Banking through Razorpay, or via bank transfer using Smart Collect.
- Overseas customers: Payments can be made using Credit/Debit Cards via Stripe or PayPal.
Payment & Billing Reference:
For invoice, payment, and billing-related guidance during or after account upgrade, please refer to the CloudPe Invoice and Payment Inquiries knowledge base article, which covers invoice access, payment issues, billing cycle details, and billing history in the CloudPe dashboard.
Verification / KYC
- No additional KYC or identity verification is required during upgrade, as verification is already completed during registration.
7. GPU Availability During Trial
- GPU resources are available during the trial period, subject to availability.
Important: For GPU-enabled VMs, if the VM is moved to a shelved state for any reason, GPU allocation may not be guaranteed when the VM is powered on again later. GPU availability depends on current resource availability at the time of restart.
8. Notifications and Alerts
CloudPe provides email and/or dashboard notifications before:
- The 14-day trial expiry
- The 20-day final deactivation / permanent cleanup
We recommend monitoring both your registered email address and the CloudPe dashboard during the trial period.
9. Important Notes
- Plan your resource usage carefully to make the most of the trial period.
- Back up important data before the 14-day trial expiry to avoid service interruption, and no later than the 20-day final deactivation deadline to prevent permanent data loss.
- Upgrading before the trial expires helps avoid service interruption.
- If the account is upgraded after trial expiry, VMs may need to be manually powered on because they move to a shelved state when the account becomes inactive.
- After the 20-day limit, all trial resources and data are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
10. FAQs
Q1. What happens if I don’t upgrade during the trial?
A: After 14 days, the account becomes inactive and all VMs move to a shelved state.
If the account is not upgraded within 20 days from signup, all VMs and associated resources are permanently deleted.
Q2. How many projects can I create during the trial?
A: You can create up to 2 projects during the trial period.
Q3. Are the trial resource limits per project or total across the account?
A: The trial limits are per project.
Each project can use up to:
- 20 vCPU
- 64 GB RAM
- 1 TB NVMe Storage
- 10 Floating IPs
Q4. What is the maximum total resource usage across both trial projects?
If both projects are fully utilized, the total available capacity can be:
- 40 vCPU
- 128 GB RAM
- 2 TB NVMe Storage
- 20 Floating IPs
Q5. What happens if I upgrade after the trial expires but before 20 days?
Your resources remain intact. However, because VMs move to a shelved state after trial expiry, you must manually power them on after the account is reactivated.
Q6. What happens after 20 days if I do not upgrade?
The trial account is deactivated, and all associated resources — including VMs, volumes, snapshots, backups, floating IPs, and projects — are permanently removed from the system.
Q7. Is GPU available during the CloudPe trial?
Yes, GPU resources are available during the trial period, subject to availability.
However, for GPU-enabled VMs, if the VM is moved to a shelved state for any reason, GPU allocation may not be guaranteed when the VM is powered on again later, depending on current GPU availability at that time.
Q8: How do I upgrade my trial account?
A: Visit https://signup.cloudpe.com/upgrade to upgrade and continue using CloudPe services.
Q9. Is additional KYC required when upgrading the trial account?
No. Additional KYC or identity verification is not required during upgrade, as verification is already completed during registration.
