Overview
This article provides step-by-step instructions to upgrade the primary disk storage of a Linux server hosted on the CloudPE platform. By following these steps, you can increase your server’s disk capacity (e.g., from 30 GB to 100 GB).
Prerequisites
- Access to the CloudPE Control Panel.
- Valid login credentials.
- Ensure you have reboot permission for the VM.
- Recommended: Take a backup of critical data and primary disk (Snapshot/Volume backup)before making storage changes.
Steps to Upgrade Primary Disk Storage
- Login to CloudPE Control Panel
- Open the CloudPE portal.
- Enter your credentials and log in.
- Locate the Virtual Machine (VM)
- Navigate to the list of virtual machines.
- Select the VM whose primary disk you want to upgrade.
- Modify Disk Volume
- Go to Properties → Volume.
- Select the Primary Disk Volume.
- Click on Edit.
- Enter the new disk size (e.g., increase from 30 GB to 100 GB).
- Save the changes.

First, please verify the currently allocated disk space.

The output below shows the server disk size as 30 GB.

Select the primary disk and click on the Edit option.

Increase the disk size from 30 GB to 100 GB and save the changes.

Once the disk has been resized in CloudPE, restart the Linux server. After reboot, the OS will detect the new disk size. The updated 100 GB disk status is shown below.
